The traditional Snowball quilt pattern gets a modern twist with an ombré colour palette. I first came across the Snowball quilt pattern in a book called Old Nova Scotian Quilts written by Scott Robson and Sharon MacDonald. I was drawn to the simple construction of alternating nine-patch blocks with octagons and thought it would work well with a re-imagined colour palette.
Using a solid background colour plus five colours that go from warm to cool or light to dark, you can create an ombré effect for a more modern version of this traditional quilt.
